Congratulations!
You’re a Super Producer
You are at the top of your game. You are in the flow of your work. You take your productivity skills seriously.
Let’s keep you in the Super Producer stratosphere. (Or maybe we need a new level?)
You will stay in the Super Producer zone by challenging the status quo, by looking at new productivity ideas, angles, and philosophies. And by continuous improvement and experimentation.
Here are some tips for maintaining your productivity muscle at the Super Producer level (for good).
Master YES
What are your BIG Yeses?
Maybe it’s Yes to more adventure, learning, opportunity, and fun. Is there more that you can be saying Yes to?
If you want more BIG Yeses in your life, what should you be saying NO to? Can you say more NOs to Facebook or stewing or to your bad habits?
Embrace Deep Work
To take your productivity to new heights and perhaps a new dimension, check out author Cal Newport who coined the term “Deep Work” in his eponymous book.
“Deep work is: Professional activities performed in a state of distraction-free concentration that push your capabilities to their limit. These efforts create new value, improve your skill, and are hard to replicate.”
Deep Work is “deeper” than just staying away from distraction – it is about using your brain to its full capacity. To up your productivity game, plan your day or week for periods of uninterrupted thinking and focusing on projects and work that matter to you.
Embrace Spontaneity
As a super producer, you are nimble and flexible to new ways of working. Experiment with spontaneity, just like you experiment with deep work.
What are the things that you should be reacting to more?
How can you seize the moment better to drive more momentum, flow, and opportunity?
Check out another great book, the 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins to embrace the power of spontaneity.
Write Fast. Write Often.
As a Super Producer, you probably have practices for writing things down but probably need to kick them up a notch in other areas. Even bestselling authors can learn to write more, and more often.
Don’t carry too much in your head. It will weigh you down. When information is stuck in your head, it doesn’t have momentum.
Writing down information comes in many forms depending on what is going on with your work. Memo that idea you had. Create a file for your ideas. Send an email to recap that great conversation you had with a co-worker. Draft out a project plan.
Help Others
Your company needs you to unstick stuck projects. Your coworkers need your example and energy. Your kids need you to keep them on track.
Your productivity superpowers will flow through osmosis to your organization, team, family, friends, and your community…if you let them!
